Badrinath, February 16, 2021: The date for opening the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham, one of the famous four Dhams of the country, has been fixed. On May 18, it will be opened at 4.15 am for the devotees to visit. Today, Tehri King Maharaja Manujendra Shah traditionally announced the opening of the doors of the Dham at the Tehri Raj Darbar in Narendra Nagar on the religious festival of Basant Panchami.

Earlier, Lord Shri Badri Vishal was invoked with Ganesh and Panchang Puja at the Raj Durbar, while the oil Kalash from Shri Badrinath Dham has been delivered to the Narendra Nagar court by Dimri priests. Apart from fixing the date of opening of the Kapat, the date of threading of sesame oil used in the daily consecration of Lord Shri Badri Vishal has also been fixed.

In the royal court itself, sesame oil will be filled with oil in the urn for the consecration of the queen and other married women’s Lord Badri Vishal. This oil will reach Badrinath from Kalash Narendra Nagar and during the yatra, there will be anointing of God with sesame oil filled in it.

On the occasion, Rawal Ishwar Prasad Namboodiri of Badrinath Dham in Raj Darbar Narendra Nagar, Dimari Panchayat Officer, MP Tirath Rawat, Bhuvan Uniyal, Devasthanam Board Additional Chief Executive Beedi Singh, Former Minister Mohan Singh and Others including the villagers were present.
