New Delhi, 10th July 2021: The people suffering from inflation have got another setback. Mother Dairy has announced to increase the prices of its milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR with effect from July 11, 2021. The new prices will be applicable for all milk types. Earlier, Amul had increased the price of its milk by Rs 2 per litre from July 1.

Leading milk supplier Mother Dairy has increased milk prices by Rs 2 per litre from Sunday in Delhi-NCR and other cities due to higher cost. Milk prices were last increased about 1.5 years ago in December 2019. Mother Dairy sells more than 30 lakh litres of milk daily in Delhi-NCR.

Mother Dairy said that it is compelled to increase the prices of its liquid milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR with effect from July 11, 2021. The new prices will be applicable to all types of milk.

The total cost of milk has increased manifold in the last year, along with the crisis on milk production due to the ongoing pandemic, the statement said. In the last one year, the cost of agriculture has also increased by 8-10 per cent with increasing processing, packaging and operating costs.

Mother Dairy said that it should be noted that in the last three-four weeks, the cost of agriculture for milk production alone has increased by about 4 per cent. Despite paying higher prices for milk purchases in the past year, consumer prices were maintained. After this revision, the milk prices are being revised by 4 per cent.
