Gurugram, 11th June 2021: In a shocking incident, a 10-year old girl raped by seven boys in Rewari. The entire incident took place on May 24; the heinous crime came to light this week after a video of the incident was shared by one of the boys, reached a neighbour, who revealed the girl’s family of the video.
The alleged rapists are minors except one who is an adult (18), the other six have not even entered their teenage. They are aged between 10 and 12. The entire incident took place in the school building, which was empty because of the pandemic. The victim family and the accused live in the same village and knew each other. Out of six minors, three minors are members of the girl’s extended family.
An FIR has been registered on Wednesday (June, 9) after the girl’s father made a complaint. A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code (IPC) and Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Information Technology Act and the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes Act against all seven rapists.
The girl didn’t tell about the crime to anyone and the boys were going normal. However, the video that was allegedly shot landed on a neighbour’s phone. And he informed the father of the victim. Aftermath the girl was examined by a doctor, which confirmed that she was sexually assaulted.
The DSP Rewari, Hansraj said, “We are trying to find the person who shared the video as sharing such videos is a criminal offence and all the six boys have been taken into the custody-the 18-year-old will be procured before the court and sent to the district jail.”
