Assam, 2nd June 2021: In a shocking incident, a young doctor was allegedly beaten by a mob on Tuesday. The mob included the family members of the deceased. Dr Seju Kumar Senapati, posted at a Covid Care Centre in Udali in Hojai, was thrashed by the mob. Over death of a covid-19 patient. All the 24 culprits have been arrested and a charge sheet is filed against the culprits.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweed, “24 culprits involved in this barbaric attack have been arrested and a charge sheet will be filed at the earliest. I am personally monitoring this investigation and I promise that justice will be served.”
The Indian Medical Association of Assam branch asked all doctors to retain their service from the outdoor patient’s services. The association demanded that all the culprits be booked under the relevant section of IPC. And has also demanded the deploy more security personnel’s in the health care facilities of the state.
