Giving details in his Republic Day message to the people, Shri Kamal Nath said that the youth are the future of the State. They have talent, which needs to be honed in such a manner as would enable them harness job opportunities at national and international level.
Registration Starts from February 10
Shri Kamal Nath said that during the employment period, the urban youth will be given training in skill development in the field of their choice. They skills will make them employable in different sectors. He said that registration of interested urban poor youth will start from February 10 and the scheme would be fully operative by end of February itself.
The Chief Minister extended greetings to people the Republic Day while remembering the contribution of Constitution makers and sacrifices of freedom fighters. He took the salute of ceremonial Republic Day parade at Chhindwara.
The Chief Minister said that farm loan waiver scheme has been launched immediately after the new government came into power waiving loans up to Rs. two lakh. He said that altering the industrial policy, at least 70 percent jobs will be given to the local people in the industries set up with government’s support.
Increase in Pension for Differently Able
The Chief Minister said that the social security pension will be increased from Rs.300 to Rs.1000 / – for the elderly, differently able persons and widows. In the first step, the amount of pension will be increased to Rs 600 per month from April first week. It will increase every year, he added.
Tandu Leave Collection Wage Raised
Shri Kamal Nath said that Tendu leave collection wage will be increased from Rs. 2000 per standard bag to Rs. 2500 per standard bag. A scheme for setting up cattle shelters for the uncared animals will start by end of next month.
Talking about tribal welfare, Shri Kamal Nath said that a committee of MPs belonging to Scheduled Tribes has been formed under the chairmanship of Tribal Welfare Minister. This will study how the land resource owned by tribal families could be best utilized. The government will act its recommendations.
Referring to the creation of Spirituality Department, Shri Kamal Nath said that India’s spiritual heritage and philosophical systems are a global heritage. This department will give a new dimension by promoting this heritage and also the development of a diversified culture.
No Financial Hurdles
Shri Nath said that the new Government has started working when its financial situation in extremely unhealthy, but financial constraints will not prevent Government’s march. He listed several steps will be taken to strengthen financial management. Financial resources will be mobilized by stopping tax evasion, strengthening the revenue enhancement mechanism and exploring new sources of income. The government, he said can also suitably amend or discontinue the schemes, which are no longer relevant for the common people.
Special focus on infrastructure building
The Chief Minister said that funds for infrastructure building will be sought from international institutions for building requisite infrastructures such as roads, electricity, irrigation, water supply, urban infrastructure etc.
Discussing the priorities of the social sector, Shri Kamal Nath said that a comprehensive campaign will be launched in collaboration with society for qualitative studies, better treatment in hospitals and malnutrition.
Laying stress on the idea of having self-reliant villages, the Chief Minister it can be done by ensuring basic needs like education, health, water, electricity, roads, sanitation and cottage and village level employment. Participation of the local people is a must through three-tier Panchayat Raj system. He said that special gram sabhas for women will be organized while making strengthening Gram Sabha.
New Work Culture Required
The Chief Minister said that new work culture is needed to sustain the change. He expected all the administrative and police officials to serve the people with utmost sincerity. He said that the public will judge their performance. Madhya Pradesh will present an example of governance in which all sections would be taken care of. Shri Kamal Nath said that the people will not be disappointed. More work with lesser publicity will be the approach.
