In the ‘Mobile Tihaar’ organized in Police Ground of District Headquarters Bilaspur of the state today afternoon, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh gave smart-phone to a senior citizen woman Mrs. Radha Sonwani, under Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY). Overjoyed on receiving a mobile phone, Mrs. Sonwani requested Chief Minister to click a selfie with her. Seeing the joy on her face, Dr Singh couldn’t refuse and clicked a selfie on his phone with Mrs. Radha Sonwani. On the occasion, Chief Minister commenced distribution of smart phones to nearly 25 thousand beneficiaries of 10 cities of Bilaspur district. Smart phones were distributed to 14 thousand 769 beneficiaries of area under Bilaspur Municipal Corporation jurisdiction. In the programme, Urban Development Minister Amar Agrawal, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Raju Kshatri, Deputy Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Mr. Badridhar Diwan, Ex-Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Mr. Bhupendra Singh Savani, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Mrs. Harshita Pandey, Jila Panchayat President Mr. Deepak Sahu and Mayor of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation Mr. Kishore Rai were also present as special guests.
