A resolution of amendment proposed for the property tax for the year 2018-19 by the Municipal Corporation, Satna has been declared invalid by the Urban Development and Housing Department after the analysis. It was found during the analysis that the rates of the property tax prescribed for the year 2018-19 are less in comparison to the year 2017-18. It will create a situation that the property tax in the year 2018-19 will be generated to 40 – 50 percent. In this way, the resolution is against the interest of Satna Municipal Corporation and is not economically viable.
The Urban Development and Housing Department has taken a decision that the property tax rates for the year 2018-19 will remain same like the year 2017-18. Directives have been issued for necessary action in this regard.
