August 24, 2017, Mumbai: Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, a part of the US $19 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its collaboration with the Godrej India Culture Lab’s event “Museum of Memories: Remembering Partition”. The event, to be held from 4-6 August 2017 at Godrej One, Vikhroli, will feature a variety of cultural events, all of which are free and open to all to attend. Mahindra Kabira Festival will present Kabir Café and Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival will present Soz Khwani by Askari Naqvi. The Mahindra Kabira Festival is being held in Varanasi from 10-12 November, 2017 to celebrate the secular teachings of the Poet Saint Kabir. Renowned artists including Kailash Kher, Shubha Mudgal and Mahesha Ram will enthrall audiences along with many more musicians at the Assi Ghat. The festival will feature literature sessions with Javed Akhtar & Ankit Chhada besides heritage and food walks. (www.mahindrakabira.com)

The Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival, which will be held from Feb 2-6 2018, is aimed at bringing back Lucknowi Tehzeeb. Organised around a fair involving master craftsmen from the regions, the festival has transformed into a celebration of craft, music, dance, cuisine and heritage. Notable performances have included the likes of Shubha Mudgal, Indian Ocean, Parvathy Baul and Shruti Sadolikar. Held at the beautiful Baradari, a building specially created for culture by the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, the intimate ambience lends itself wonderfully to re-learn and appreciate the nuances of old world Nawaabi culture.

Remebering Partition: Museum of Memories is a special 3 day event to be held from 4-6 August 2017, curated by the Godrej India Culture Lab along with The Partition Museum Project. The event marks 70 years since the Partition of India and will have several curated exhibitions, discussions, film screenings and music at Godrej One auditorium in Vikhroli, Mumbai, “Mahindra is proud to participate in the The Partition Museum Project. The old Town Hall at Amritsar is being converted into a museum that will resonate with memories of partition. We have sponsored a gallery within the Museum and named it “The Rise”. The gallery talks about the period of rebellion that led to our independence”, said Jay Shah, Head-Culture Outreach, Mahindra Group.
