The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath in his message to the people of the state has appealed them to save water and to share their experiences and suggestions for the development of new water sources. He has said that that youth will be entrusted with the responsibility of water conservation works by forming Yuva Shakti Committees and a big movement will be conducted. He urged youth to become Jal-Doots.
Shri Nath further said that the Water Cell will work to decide strategy as regard to water conservation works and its reasonable use. He stated that all the works of water conservation and increase of water sources in the state will be done as per the suggestions and participation of people of the state now.
Moreover, the Chief Minister said that water is an essential need of all. Without water we can’t even think of life. Hence, it is necessary that youth must play an important role in water conservation works. He urged youth that they should work as Jal-Doot. We can use water in a better manner by saving every drop of water with their ideas, perspective and passion. He told youth that wherever they are, whatever work they are doing, they should generate awareness about the water conservation among all the sections of society in their respective areas. They should give their maximal contribution in works to stop water.
Do plantation at wide scale
The CM Shri Kamal Nath said that draught is a natural calamity. Nobody has control over it but people have courage and strength to tackle draught. Therefore, we can face this crisis successfully by doing works of water conservation. He further mentioned that we all have to do all necessary work together to stop rain water in village itself in this monsoon. Instead of big schemes, we will have to do small but important works related to ponds, check dams, percolation ponds on farms-ponds, construction of boundaries and well recharge together in rural areas at local level. Do plantation at wide scale, water them and also protect them. The Chief Minister has urged big farmers of the state that they themselves should do works of ponds and ground water recharge at their own cost at their own farms to stop water.
Moreover, Shri Kamal Nath said that arrangement of sufficient fund has been made in various government schemes for water conservation by the state government. Panchayat and public representatives must do water conservation works on priority at large scale actively and vigilantly in their respective areas. The Chief Minister has urged all the Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly that they should use their fund on water conservation works at large scale. Shri Kamal Nath expects that every individual will work with commitment and dedication in the campaign being conducted to make Madhya Pradesh, a water abundant state.
