28th February, Bastar, Chhattisgarh: New India Chaupal organised in Chhattisgarh district to highlight the benefits of the various government schemes. More than 2,000 people have
attended New India Chaupal held at Bastar and Jagdalpur sub division from 20 th to 28 th February 2019. New India Chaupal is being organised across the state in various towns and villages till the second week of March.
During the event, few beneficiaries of various government schemes were felicitated. Videos of the beneficiaries of these schemes were also shown at the venue. Later, the beneficiaries were invited on the stage to share how they had benefited from these schemes.
Entertainment and engagement activities such as nukkad natak, performances by local artistes, a lucky draw and a drawing competition were also held during the event. The residents of each district at the venue were provided with brochures and information material on various government schemes. A special exhibition zone provided information about the various government schemes. The visitors to the event were also encouraged to collect information about the various schemes. A Jan Ki Baat booth was also erected for the visitors to drop their messages for the Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is organizing around 8,000 such outreach
programs, called ‘New India Chaupal’, in 318 districts across the country in February and March 2019. The focus of ‘New India Chaupal’ is to show the achievements of the Government of India through its various schemes for the socio – economic development of the masses. The main idea of this program is to communicate information and educate people about various government schemes and encourage them to enrol themselves.
New India Chaupal is a platform for the government to draw attention to the benefits of various schemes by highlighting success stories and thereby encouraging more and more people to participate in the various schemes.
